“We beautify, inform and advocate to improve our quality of life.”
Shelley Burns
A longtime Ocean Beach/Point Loma resident, Shelley Burns is passionate about supporting the local community through positive, impactful actions. She believes in the strength of storytelling to inspire others to create purpose-driven, lasting change.
Born and raised in the Carolinas, she moved to San Diego from the East Coast after graduating with a BA in English and Anthropology from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, with stretches in New York and Spain along the way.
After serving for 11 years as the marketing director of Cuker, a nationally-known digital agency in Solana Beach, she decided to open her own agency to help smaller brands and companies navigate the challenging post-Covid digital landscape.
As an avid proponent of local volunteerism, she has supported numerous organizations and non-profits over the years for causes close to her heart, primarily focused on environmental protection, alcoholism and addiction recovery, animal welfare, cancer research, and public health.
She believes in utilizing the power of digital to maximize the voice and visibility of companies and organizations that are committed to enhancing and improving the community - both locally and in the world-at-large.
Shelley has been a member of PLA since 2024 and serves on both the Memberships and the Annual Dinner Committees.
In her free time, she loves running, yoga, hiking, meditation, traveling, live music, and playing with her sweet rescue cat Kaya.
